Terms of Service – cryptids veil Fursuit Commissions

Last updated: 10/10/2025

1. Overview

By commissioning a custom fursuit, partial suit, or accessory from cryptids veil, you  agree to the following Terms of Service. These terms are designed to ensure fairness, transparency, and clear communication between both parties.

2. Quotes and Pricing

  • All price quotes are valid for 60 days from the date issued.

  • Final pricing depends on the complexity of the design, materials, and add-on features.

  • Prices do not include shipping, which will be calculated and billed separately prior to shipment.

3. Deposits and Payment

  • For all commissions totaling $200 or more, a non-refundable 30% deposit is required to secure your slot and begin materials ordering.

  • The deposit amount will be deducted from the total project cost.

  • Orders under $200 must be paid in full upfront.

Payment Plans

  • Payment plans are available for orders over $200.

  • The payment schedule and amounts must be agreed upon in writing before work begins.

  • Work will not begin until the deposit has been received.

  • The fursuit will not ship or be delivered until the balance is paid in full.

  • Missed or delayed payments may result in the cancellation of your commission and forfeiture of any payments already made.

4. Refunds and Cancellations

  • The 30% deposit is non-refundable, as it covers time and materials purchased.

  • Refunds on additional payments (beyond the deposit) may be considered only before work has begun, at the artist’s discretion.

  • Once work has started, no refunds will be issued.

  • If the artist must cancel due to unforeseen circumstances, a full refund will be provided (including deposit).

5. Artwork and Design

  • The Client must provide clear reference images and a detailed description of the desired design.

  • The artist reserves the right to decline any design that is overly complex, offensive, or outside their current skill range.

  • Minor artistic interpretation and style differences should be expected.

6. Progress Updates

  • Clients will receive photo or video updates at key stages of the build (base, fur, final).

  • Small adjustments may be requested early in the process; major design changes after approval may incur additional costs.

7. Shipping and Delivery

  • Shipping costs and insurance are the Client’s responsibility unless otherwise agreed.

  • The artist is not responsible for delays, damage, or loss caused by the shipping carrier.

  • International clients are responsible for any customs fees or import taxes.

8. Ownership and Use

  • The Client receives full ownership of the physical suit upon full payment.

  • The artist retains the right to share images of the finished work for portfolio and social media purposes.

  • The Client may use the suit for personal and public appearances but may not claim the suit as their own work or reproduce it commercially without written permission.

9. Liability

  • Fursuits are handmade art pieces and may have natural imperfections.

  • The artist is not liable for damage resulting from improper use, rough handling, or lack of maintenance.

10. Agreement

By submitting a deposit or payment, you acknowledge that you have read and agreed to these Terms of Service in full.

11. Commissions from Minors

  • Clients under the age of 18 must have permission from a parent or legal guardian to place a commission.

  • All communication regarding quotes, payments, and design details will be conducted directly with the parent or guardian, not the minor.

  • The parent or guardian must be the person submitting payments and signing any agreements.

  • Failure to follow this policy may result in the cancellation of the commission and forfeiture of any deposit or payments made.

12. Body Suit Sizing and DTD Policy

  • A DTD (Duct Tape Dummy) is required for full bodysuit commissions.

  • Once the artist has received the DTD, it is considered final for sizing purposes.

  • Any changes to body size, shape, or measurements after the DTD is received are not the responsibility of the artist.

  • If the Client requests a new DTD or adjustments after submission, additional fees may apply depending on how far along the project is.

  • A new DTD may require a re-fitting fee and may also delay the production schedule.

  • The artist is not responsible for fit issues resulting from inaccurate or poorly made DTDs.

13. Communication Policy

  • All official communication will take place through discord, instagram, telegram or a other agreed upon platform.

  • Clients are expected to communicate respectfully and professionally. Harassment, excessive messaging, or rude behavior will not be tolerated and may result in the termination of the commission without refund.

  • Project updates will be provided as outlined in Section 6. Clients should avoid sending excessive requests for progress between update stages.

  • If the artist is unavailable (due to illness, vacation, or emergencies), a short notice will be posted or sent to all active clients.

  • All important agreements or changes must be confirmed in writing to be valid.

  • If a client does not respond to contact attempts within 30 days, a 30-day warning will be issued. If there is still no response after that period, the commission will be canceled and no refund will be provided.

14. Warranty Policy

  • All fursuits and costume parts include a 90-day limited workmanship warranty beginning on the date of delivery.

  • This warranty covers issues directly related to construction quality, such as popped seams, detached parts, or glue failure under normal use.

  • The warranty does not cover damage caused by:

    • Rough or improper handling

    • Excessive wear or outdoor use

    • Improper washing or storage

    • Alterations or repairs made by others

  • During the warranty period, qualifying repairs will be made free of charge, but the Client is responsible for shipping costs to and from the artist.

  • After the 90-day period, repairs may still be available for a fee depending on the issue.

  • The artist reserves the right to determine whether a defect qualifies under warranty.

15. Experimental Features Policy

  • Some clients request experimental or prototype features, such as integrated electronics, specialty materials, 3D-printed parts, animatronics, or other new design techniques.

  • These features are considered experimental and may not have long-term durability testing.

  • The Client understands and accepts that:

    • Experimental components are provided “as-is” and are not covered under the standard warranty in Section 14.

    • The artist cannot guarantee longevity, functionality, or replacement of these components.

    • Adjustments or repairs to experimental parts after delivery may incur additional fees.

  • The artist will clearly inform the Client if any part of their commission includes an experimental feature and will obtain approval before proceeding.

  • By agreeing to include experimental elements, the Client accepts all associated risks regarding performance and maintenance.
